Toolcast generate PRODUCT DESIGN & PROTOTYPE solutions that meet the requirements of real people. We work in an environment in which rigorous thinking generates creative, commercially viable solutions.
Twenty years of tooling and moulding experience assists in the reduction of development lead-times and the overall schedule to the point of production.
We offer a full PRODUCT DESIGN & PROTOTYPE design service, where every component is individually detailed.
One of our engineers will visit your site to analyse your project requirements and help to fulfill the project brief.
As standard, we sign a non-disclosure agreement before entering into detailed discussions to ensure your intellectual property is correctly protected.
3D & 2D cad data files are created using SolidWorks and can be output in a format of your choice.
High quality is paramount when manufacturing cosmetic parts.
Our services include: CNC machining, SLA, SLS rapid tooling, silicone moulding, painting, silkscreen, anodizing, electro-plating and full prototype assemblies,
Vacuum Casting: Ideal for economical production of parts for exhibitions, market research, batch prototyping, or in some instances, low-volume production.
Our facilities include dust free paint rooms, hand finishing, sand and bead blasting and silk printing equipment. Pantone and RAL colour standards can be matched and Mold-Tech and VDI finishes can be applied on metal and plastic components.
Design for manufacture is one of the most important steps in the PRODUCT DESIGN & PROTOTYPES process because the shape, configuration, quality, and uniformity of the component directly affects the final product.
Our DFM process takes into account the following considerations:
- Wall Thickness
- Sink Marks
- Parting Lines
- Coring Out and Ribbing
- Draft and Radii
- Gating and EjectionPRODUCT DESIGN & PROTOTYPES
Our custom CNC machining services offer a host of benefits for manufacturing simple and complex designs.
This option offers:
• High-levels of accuracy and precision
• Repeatable processes
• Choice of metals, alloys, plastics
• Prototype, small-batch, and low-volume orders
• Fast turnaround
Creating complex designs from metals, plastics, and alloys, Toolcast source the finest raw materials, ensuring that any components produced have the highest level of integrity.
For a full list of materials available for use in CNC machining, contact the team at Toolcast. The most-commonly selected raw materials used in CNC milling are:
• Stainless Steel
Many of the parts and prototypes we produce require coatings and finishes beyond their base material. Protective layering, safety coating, decorative finishes and more can all be applied by our dedicated in-house finishing department.
Some options available include:
Spray Painting –. For colour matching, we use the advanced Pantone and Ral Colour Matching systems
Silk Screening – To place your logo, serial number, part number, or any other text or image directly onto a completed part.
Plating –Add a layer of precious metal to your product. Using chrome, silver, and other metallic colours, our finishing department expertly apply layers directly onto your design to enhance lustre and appearance.
Laser Etching – Allows direct etching of designs, logos, text & numbers directly into completed parts.
Polishing –Adds mirror finish brilliance and lustre to finished parts, prototypes, and completed components.
